Image of Jordan GonzalesJordan Gonzalez is currently employed as a law clerk in the Firm’s Houston corporate office. Mr. Gonzalez was raised in a Mexican-American home in the border town of McAllen, Texas. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas – Pan American with a degree in Political Science, Mr. Gonzalez moved to Houston to pursue his law degree at the University of Houston Law Center as a Global Scholar Fellow.
Mr. Gonzalez has developed work experience in various areas of the law, which has included assisting Mexican nationals recuperate their internationally abducted children at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mexico City and holding U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CPB) officers accountable for their actions at the American Civil Liberty Union. Since beginning his clerkship with Deason Law, PC, Mr. Gonzalez has developed additional experience with the preparation of corporate nonimmigrant visas under the L-1, TN, H-2A and J-1 visa programs, I-601 hardship waivers for clients seeking permanent residency and business transactions.

Representative Experience

  • Provided assistance to agricultural company’s sponsorship of H-2A agricultural labor from Mexico.
  • Provided legal assistance for U-Visa, Naturalization, Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ), and related work authorization cases as a member of the University of Houston Law Center’s Immigration Clinic.
  • Protecting Due Process and ensuring indigent clients received full due process while working at the Texas Innocence Project.
  • Resolved conflicts of law under The Hague Convention of the Civil Aspects of International Abduction to ensure the restitution of abducted children.
  • Drafted Motions to Reopen and Reconsider USCIS Denial of an H1B petition.
